there is a mini-series out called “generation kill”.  it was on HBO and it has 7 parts.  it was originally a book written by one of the member of the platoon it follows, Evan Wright.  i have not read the book but recently finished the series and i have to tell you it was amazing.  a must see.  very real and very controversial.  a great view of the war in iraq back in the 2003 when this team, the 1st recon marines, were on mission to invade baghdad. check it out if you would like.

this brings me to my next post.  on the dvd’s special feature it had a segment with one of the actors and how he trained for the part and lived his life the 3 or so months it took to tape this.  it was shot in africa and  on one of their off days a local tour guide brought them to Victoria Falls.  this natural wonder actually divides an area of Zambia and Zimbabwe.

this waterfall is actually really cool with the way it is in the different areas of it and how it is during the  flood and dry seasons. its also basically a giant gorge and the water falls straight down..in a giant hole in the earth and comes out 2 different openings lower down the gorge. i suggest reading about it a little more.  check out their wikipedia.  it seems pretty accurate.

anyways..the tour guide brings them to the edge of the falls to show them “the devils swimming pool”.  this is basically a natural pool right before going over the falls.  i found some cool videos on youtube about it.  ill let them explain it to you.  but all i have to say is that this is probably one of the most awesome things i have seen and would love to experience it in person.
